 ECO WELLBEING COURSE

For all staff: Supporting Wellbeing and Promoting Resilience With Nature

2.5-hour introductory online workshop (for up to 14 participants)

Course aims:

  • To enhance understanding of stress and Mental Health

  • To understand the relationship between Eco Wellbeing and Mental Health

  • To develop knowledge of Eco Wellbeing and the benefits of engaging with the natural environment

  • To increase understanding of how being in and around nature enhances wellbeing

  • To increase knowledge of the range of nature-based methods and activities that can enhance our wellbeing

  • To heighten awareness of ‘Health & Safety’ in the natural environment

  • To enhance respect for the natural environment

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the course you will:

  • Have a greater understanding of stress and its impact on our wellbeing

  • Have enhanced knowledge of how to build resilience through (engaging more with) nature

  • Have a greater understanding of why nature is a healer and can support our mental health

  • Have some practical exercises for managing stress, anxiety and low mood, and for promoting positive wellbeing.​​

Training methods:
Audio/ visual presentation; videos; pairs work; live case studies and experiential discussion/ chat room contributions; Q&A. Can be delivered outside when possible.

Resources:
All participants will be provided with a copy of the 'Thriving With Nature' guide for use during the session and for reference following the workshop to sustain their learning and encourage them to engage more with nature.
